Space Shipping's dedicated fleet service assigns dedicated owner-operators, contracted to Space Shipping, to a customer's recurring lanes and schedules — daily store runs, DC shuttles or route deliveries across New Jersey, New York City, Connecticut and Eastern Pennsylvania — managed by Space Shipping dispatch as an extension of the customer's own operation.
A fleet without owning a fleet
Running trucks means buying and maintaining equipment, hiring and retaining CDL drivers, managing hours-of-service, insurance and DOT compliance, and covering the days a driver calls out. A dedicated program from Space Shipping gives you the control of your own trucks — fixed schedules, familiar drivers who know your locations, equipment sized to your stops — with owner-operators contracted to us and our dispatch desk managing the schedule and the paperwork.
Founded in 1992 on the idea that service should be shaped around the client, not the carrier, we build each dedicated program around your routing, your delivery windows and your peak seasons.

- Assigned equipment — straight trucks, pups, 48- or 53-foot trailers, low-height trailers — matched to your lanes.
- Assigned owner-operators who learn your stores, docks and receivers.
- Scheduled routes managed by our dispatch desk with surge capacity from the rest of the fleet.
- Staging and cross-dock at our 41,000 sq ft Jamesburg facility when it helps the schedule.
- Reporting through GPS tracking, online POD and EDI 210/214.
