Pool distribution at Space Shipping means a shipper sends one consolidated truckload to our 41,000 sq ft Jamesburg, New Jersey facility, where the freight is sorted by destination and delivered final-mile to stores and consignees across New Jersey, New York City, Long Island, Connecticut and Eastern Pennsylvania on company trucks.
How a pool distribution program works
- One inbound load. Your distribution center ships a full or partial truckload to Jamesburg instead of dozens of small LTL shipments.
- Sort and stage. At our dock the load is broken down by store, consignee or route and staged for the next delivery run.
- Final-mile delivery. Our drivers deliver each piece inside its appointment window on equipment sized for the stop — pups and liftgate straight trucks for malls and storefronts.
- Proof and data. Signed PODs are scanned the same day and status flows back through the web portal or EDI 214.
